In a bid to improve the infrastructure and connectivity of the Chhamb constituency, Minister for Transport, Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs (FCS&CA), Youth Services & Sports, Information Technology, and Science & Technology, Satish Sharma, conducted an extensive tour today. During his visit, he inaugurated several key development projects aimed at enhancing local amenities and boosting regional growth.
The inaugurated projects include:
- Widening of the Road: The stretch from Khuga Chowk to the Government Ayurvedic Medical College in Akhnoor, which will improve access to essential healthcare services.
- Foundation Stone for Tube Well: A vital water supply initiative at Barui, aimed at addressing the water needs of local communities.
- Link Roads Construction:
- A 900-meter link road to Dhanna Kufi at Bala Maira Mandrian.
- A 700-meter link road from the Government Middle School to SC Mohalla, extending up to the Sub Centre at Godhan Maira Mandrian.
- Blacktopping of Roads: The road leading from GMS to Godhan, which will significantly improve the local transportation infrastructure.
While inaugurating the projects, Minister Satish Sharma stressed the critical role of roads in improving connectivity and accessibility. He further emphasized that road infrastructure is the backbone of socio-economic development, as it fosters better access to education, healthcare, and markets, ultimately contributing to the overall well-being of the residents.
The Minister reiterated his commitment to bringing more developmental initiatives to the constituency, which would not only boost the local economy but also enhance the quality of life for the people of Chhamb.
“Roads are the lifelines of development, and with these infrastructure projects, we aim to create a better, more connected future for everyone in the region,” Minister Sharma added.
