Minister for Jal Shakti, Forest, Ecology & Environment, and Tribal Affairs, Javed Ahmad Rana, has urged officials to streamline the water supply system in Jammu city while ensuring prompt responses to issues raised by local legislators.
Rana chaired a high-level meeting at the Civil Secretariat to address water quality concerns in various parts of Jammu city. Attendees included MLAs Ch. Vikram Randhawa and Arvind Gupta, along with the Chief Engineer of PHE Jammu, Superintending Engineers, Executive Engineers from all divisions of Jammu, and other concerned officers.
Key Directives for Improving Water Supply
The Minister emphasized the importance of expediting the execution and completion of pending water supply projects. He stressed the need for enhanced coordination among stakeholders to deliver quality services to the public.
Rana instructed officials to prioritize:
- Upgrading and maintaining filtration plants to ensure the supply of clean and safe drinking water.
- Responding promptly to grievances raised by local legislators and residents regarding water supply issues.
- Strengthening efforts to meet the growing water demand in Jammu city efficiently.

“Providing quality water supply services to the people is a fundamental responsibility,” Rana said, urging the officers to work earnestly towards achieving this goal.
He assured the public that the government is committed to addressing their concerns and improving infrastructure to ensure uninterrupted water supply in Jammu city.
The meeting concluded with a resolution to strengthen cooperation among various departments and accelerate project timelines to meet public expectations.
