Mumbai, October 18 – The Mumbai traffic police have received a threat message demanding ₹5 crore from Bollywood actor Salman Khan, officials confirmed on Friday. The threat was sent to the city’s traffic control room via WhatsApp on Thursday afternoon.
According to authorities, the sender threatened the actor and demanded the substantial amount, prompting the Worli police to register a case under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for extortion and issuing threats.
Salman Khan has previously been targeted by the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, which issued death threats and even fired shots outside his Bandra residence in April.
In a related development, Navi Mumbai police uncovered a plot by the Bishnoi gang to assassinate Khan in June. They arrested one of the gang’s shooters, Sukhbir Singh, from Panipat, Haryana, as part of their ongoing investigation.
The probe into the latest threat is currently underway.
