Jammu, Dec 10 – The Minister for Jal Shakti, Forest, Ecology & Environment, and Tribal Affairs, Javed Ahmad Rana, reaffirmed the Omar Abdullah-led government’s commitment to making education a top priority in Jammu and Kashmir. Speaking at the Annual Day celebration at Brigadier K B Public Higher Secondary School, Jammu, Rana stressed that ensuring quality education for every child with enhanced facilities is the government’s prime concern and responsibility.
“We are committed to taking forward the cause of education by involving all sections of society. Inclusiveness will be at the heart of our efforts, providing a new dimension to the future governance of Jammu and Kashmir. Together, we will build a strong, united nation,” said Rana during his address.
Focus on Education and Inclusivity
The event was attended by several distinguished guests, including Prof. (Dr.) Parikshat Singh Manhas, Chairman of the Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (J&K BOSE), who was the guest of honour, along with Patron-in-Chief GDCT Haji Abdul Hamid Choudhary, Chairman GDCT Arshad Ali Choudhary, Director KBPS & Director Finance Tribal Affairs Iftikhar Hussain Chauhan, and a host of other dignitaries and staff members.
Rana emphasized that an educated population is crucial for building a better society and a developed nation. He added that the government is focused on creating an enabling environment for all students to attain quality education, which would pave the way for a brighter future.
Celebrating Student Achievements
Chairman of GDCT, Arshad Ali Choudhary, took pride in the achievements of the students across various fields, calling it a proud moment for the school. He highlighted that the success of the school is the result of hard work over the past 30 years, culminating in the institution’s current standing.
Prof. Parikshat Singh Manhas, Chairman of J&K BOSE, commended the school for its exemplary work in the field of education over the last three decades, describing its contributions as remarkable.
Inauguration and Foundation Laying
Earlier in the day, Javed Rana inaugurated the Dr. Masud A Choudhary Boys Hostel at Khuda Baksh Public Higher Secondary School. He also laid the foundation stone for the upgradation of the playground and the Vocational Training Centre at KB Public Higher Secondary School.
While addressing the gathering during the foundation-laying ceremony, Rana said, “Playgrounds are crucial for fostering creativity among children. The upgradation of the playground is a vital step in that direction. It will provide a better environment for students to develop both physically and mentally.”
Rana’s visit to the school also highlighted the government’s ongoing efforts to improve educational infrastructure and provide the necessary facilities to nurture the talent of students.
