New Delhi, Oct 8: India will look to continue their dominant run as they face Bangladesh in the second T20 International on Wednesday. After a convincing seven-wicket win in the first game, the young Indian side, led by Suryakumar Yadav, is set to challenge the visitors once again.
Despite missing key players like Rishabh Pant, Jasprit Bumrah, and Axar Patel, India showcased remarkable depth in their white-ball squad, with players like debutants Mayank Yadav and Nitish Kumar Reddy stepping up.
Sanju Samson, confirmed as the opener for the series, impressed with a quick-fire 29 in the first match. However, both Samson and his opening partner Abhishek Sharma will be eager to convert their starts into big scores in the second game. For Samson, this series is a crucial opportunity to cement his place in the team as a wicketkeeper-batter, especially with the T20 World Cup two years away.
On the other side, Bangladesh will need to regroup quickly if they hope to stay alive in the three-match series. Captain Najmul Hossain Shanto admitted that his side has been struggling in the T20 format and will rely on experienced players like Liton Das and Mahmudullah to turn things around.
India, unlikely to make changes to their winning XI, will look to seal the series, while Bangladesh will be fighting for survival.
