New Delhi, Sept 3 — The Government has officially notified the formation of the 23rd Law Commission, set to serve for a term of three years. This new commission will have the provision to appoint serving Supreme Court and High Court judges as its chairperson and members.
The Law Commission plays a crucial role in advising the Government on complex legal matters and recommending reforms to the legal system. With the term of the 22nd Law Commission concluding on August 31, the new commission commenced its term from September 1, following an order issued by the Law Ministry late Monday evening.
The process of appointing the chairperson and members of the 23rd Law Commission will soon be underway, ensuring that the panel can begin its work on evaluating and suggesting legal reforms to support the evolving needs of the legal system.
