Dr. Devansh Yadav, Commissioner of Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC), today conducted an extensive tour of Chhani and its adjoining areas to personally assess the sanitation facilities. The tour focused on the cleanliness of the Chhani Himmat area and surrounding wards, following complaints regarding sanitation services within the municipal limits.
Assessing Sanitation and Seeking Public Cooperation
The main objective of the tour was to evaluate the current sanitation conditions and address any shortcomings. Dr. Yadav emphasized the importance of public cooperation in maintaining cleanliness. He urged the residents not to dispose of garbage or refuse in lanes and drains, highlighting the impact of such actions on overall sanitation. The Commissioner stressed the need for maintaining hygiene across the entire municipal jurisdiction to prevent waste accumulation and ensure a clean environment for all.
Ensuring Punctuality of Sanitation Workers
In addition to inspecting sanitation facilities, Dr. Yadav also took the opportunity to address the punctuality of sanitation workers. He directed the health section of JMC to use a dedicated app to verify the attendance of sanitation workers regularly, ensuring that they are adhering to their duties. This move aims to improve the efficiency of sanitation services and hold workers accountable for their attendance and performance.
The tour concluded with Dr. Yadav reiterating the JMC’s commitment to maintaining cleanliness and sanitary standards in all areas and called on the residents to play an active role in keeping their surroundings clean.
