Nowshera, Rajouri District:
Union Home Minister Amit Shah, in a massive rally today at Nowshera, stressed the necessity of a BJP Government in Jammu & Kashmir to ensure peace, security, and a firm stand against terrorism and Pakistan. Shah affirmed that stone pelters and terrorists would not be released, and there would be no dialogue with Pakistan until it abandons terrorism. He also announced reservations for the Pahari community in government job promotions following the Assembly elections.
BJP for Security and Strong Governance
Addressing the rally in support of Ravinder Raina, BJP UT chief and candidate for the upcoming elections, Shah said, “J&K needs a BJP Government to ensure peace, security, and to teach Pakistan a lesson. Raina will contest and play a key role in the government.”
Shah sharply criticized the opposition, particularly the National Conference (NC) and Congress, accusing them of denying the rightful reservations to Gujjars, Bakerwals, Paharis, and Other Backward Classes (OBCs). He vowed that under BJP rule, no caste’s reservations would be cut.
BJP’s Promises for Paharis
The Home Minister highlighted BJP’s commitment to the Pahari community, recalling that Ravinder Raina worked tirelessly for their ST status. “Paharis were denied their rights by the Congress, NC, and PDP. We fulfilled our promise, and no one can snatch their reservations.”
No Return of Article 370
Referring to NC’s statement on bringing back Article 370, Shah confidently declared, “Three generations have gone, and even the next three generations won’t be able to restore Article 370.”
Development and Infrastructure
Shah outlined several key development projects in Jammu & Kashmir under BJP governance, including railway and road projects, new educational institutions like AIIMS and IITs, and significant investments in power and health sectors. He emphasized that Jammu now ranks third in India for rural roads development.
Shah announced plans to build an international airport in Jammu, launch a metro system, and restore 100 damaged temples. He also promised the construction of National Highway 144A, establishment of new tourist towns, and the introduction of water sports at Ranjit Sagar Dam.
Bold Stance Against Terrorism
Shah reaffirmed the BJP’s firm stance against terrorism and warned, “No stone pelter or terrorist will be released. The Modi Government will ensure that terrorism is buried deep.”
He also took a jibe at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s slogan, stating, “After the votes are counted on October 8, Rahul Gandhi’s fake ‘Mohabbat Ki Dukan’ will be closed.”
Conclusion
The rally concluded with Shah reiterating that only the BJP could bring lasting peace and development to Jammu & Kashmir. He highlighted various welfare schemes and announced significant promises for the people, including reduced gas cylinder prices, increased financial aid for farmers, and enhanced opportunities for students under the Pragati Shiksha Yojna.
