Amit requests for mass public awareness on Cyber Crimes during National IT Secretaries’ Conference

New Delhi, Dec 18, 2024: Amit Sharma, Spl Secretary Information & Communications Technology and Cooperation (Independent Charge), Mizoram raised an alarming issue of mass public awareness campaigns to be initiated regarding various kinds of cyber crimes during all-important full day Conference of IT Secretaries held at Bharatmandapam in New Delhi yesterday.

This Conference was chaired by Union MeiTY Secretary S.Krishnan who was accompanied with all officers of Government of India related to Digital India. Campaign. Amit Sharma, who is ICT & Cooperation Secretary of Mizoram and serving third consecutive state as an IT Secretary after successful stints in J&K and Ladakh, raised several critical issues, especially in the breakfast session arranged for NE and Hilly states here.

Secretary ICT Mizoram, Amit Sharma mentioned that Mizoram requires a special impetus from Government of India wherein the vision of Chief Minister, ICT Minister, Chief Secretary and ICT Secretary, is totally in-sync towards introducing several technological interventions in this strategically-located state of India.

Apart from this, Amit Sharma also actively participated in an important track relating to Standarization and Unified Data maintenance which was a part of bigger Ek Bharat – whole of Government convergence project being conceptualised and conceived to give more freedom to states for introducing latest IT-related reforms.

It was emphasised by Union IT Secretary, Additional Secretaries, CEO UIDAI, Joint Secretaries MeiTY during multiple addresses to make systems robust with State CERT, digitisation of select departments, adoption of digital solutions, regular auditing of Government Websites, robust mechanisms to deal with Cyber Crimes and Cyber Attacks, establishing Cyber Foresnsic Labs in every district, strict implementation of DPDP Act and many other important issues.

Before culmination of Conference, ICT Secretary Mizoram Amit Sharma expressed that the state shall keep improvising with constant MeiTY support in times to come so as to make it a top IT-enabled state amongst various Noteth Eastern States.
