September 3, 2024 — In a tragic accident early Tuesday morning, eight people lost their lives and ten others were injured when a truck collided with a stationary vehicle carrying devotees in Haryana’s Jind district.
The incident occurred shortly after midnight in Bidharana village along the Hisar national highway. Inspector Kuldeep, Station House Officer (SHO) of Sadar Narwana, confirmed that the injured were transported to hospitals in Jind and Agroha in Hisar for treatment.
According to the SHO, the group of devotees was en route from Kurukshetra district to a temple in Gogamedi, Rajasthan, when the accident happened. The light commercial vehicle they were traveling in had stopped temporarily when the truck struck it.
“Eight individuals, including two women and a teenager, were killed in the collision. The ten injured passengers are currently out of danger,” Inspector Kuldeep reported to PTI.
A case has been registered in connection with the accident, and further investigations are underway to determine the circumstances leading to the collision.
