BJP National General Secretary Tarun Chugh, who also serves as the party’s Incharge for Jammu and Kashmir, sharply criticized the Congress party for allegedly undermining the socio-political fabric of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) since Independence. Speaking at a series of public meetings in the Kishtwar region today, Chugh accused Congress of creating conditions that led to the death of Shyama Prasad Mukherjee, who was then the president of the Janata Sangh.
Chugh alleged that the Congress government failed to take decisive action against disruptive elements from Pakistan, allowing anti-national forces to gain a foothold in J&K. He argued that this leniency contributed to the region’s longstanding issues.
In contrast, Chugh lauded the Modi government for ushering in a new era of nationalism and enterprise. He emphasized that the BJP’s growing popularity reflects the aspirations of J&K’s youth for a transformative change. Chugh highlighted the Modi government’s commitment to elevating J&K to new heights, celebrating its rich cultural heritage and potential for economic development.
“The BJP envisions J&K as a leading force in the nation,” Chugh asserted. “We believe in harnessing the region’s immense cultural and entrepreneurial potential to drive progress and prosperity.”
The BJP’s rhetoric underscores its focus on promoting national integration and economic development in J&K, positioning itself as a force for positive change in the region’s complex socio-political landscape.
