SRINAGAR, NOVEMBER 29 – Satish Sharma, the Minister for Transport, FCS&CA, Youth Services and Sports, Information Technology, Science & Technology, today conducted a surprise visit to the office of the Regional Transport Officer (RTO) in Bemina, Kashmir, to assess the functioning of the office and the services provided to the public.
During his visit, the Minister inspected various sections of the RTO office and observed the ongoing online services and other allied activities. Sharma also interacted with visitors to gather feedback on the functioning and facilities available at the office. He expressed his commitment to improving the overall experience for the people seeking transportation-related services.
Sharma took the opportunity to emphasize the need for increased efficiency and transparency in the department. He issued immediate instructions to the RTO to work on reducing the time taken for issuing licenses and vehicle registrations. The Minister also stressed the importance of leveraging digital technology to streamline processes and ensure complete transparency in all dealings.
Furthermore, Sharma encouraged the RTO to adopt best practices in service delivery to enhance customer satisfaction and make processes more accessible and user-friendly for the public.
Following his inspection, the Minister also paid a visit to the revered Hazratbal Dargah and Gurudwara Chatti Padshahi in Srinagar, offering his obeisance at both religious sites.
The surprise visit highlights Sharma’s commitment to improving public service delivery and ensuring that government processes are not only efficient but also accessible through modern technological solutions.
