New Delhi, Sept 25: AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal has written a letter to RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat, posing five key questions regarding the BJP’s political conduct and Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership. The letter, penned on Wednesday, reflects Kejriwal’s deep concern about the direction in which he believes the BJP-led Central Government is steering the country.
Kejriwal, also the former Delhi Chief Minister, expressed fears that the current trajectory of BJP’s politics could prove harmful to the nation’s future. In his letter, he asserted, “If this continues, our country and democracy will be finished.”
Five Questions Directed to RSS Chief
In his letter, Kejriwal highlighted several issues that he believes are on the minds of Indian citizens. During his recent “Janta Ki Adalat” rally, he sought answers to these questions and directly addressed them to Bhagwat:
Use of Central Agencies: Kejriwal questioned whether Bhagwat agrees with the BJP’s alleged strategy of using central agencies like the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and CBI to target opposition parties, break them apart, and topple non-BJP governments.
Induction of Corrupt Leaders: He raised concerns about the BJP’s practice of inducting politicians facing allegations of corruption into its ranks after breaking up opposition parties. Kejriwal sought Bhagwat’s response to whether the RSS supports such actions.
Retirement Age Rule: Kejriwal questioned the BJP’s stance on the retirement age for its senior leaders. He referred to veterans like L K Advani and Murli Manohar Joshi, who were sidelined based on age, and asked whether the same rule applies to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
BJP-RSS Relationship: The AAP leader also brought up BJP President J P Nadda’s statement that the BJP no longer needs the RSS. Kejriwal inquired how Bhagwat felt about this assertion, given the RSS’s role as the ideological backbone of the BJP.
Concerns of the Nation: Finally, Kejriwal underscored that these questions reflect the concerns of millions of Indians who are observing the current political climate. He requested that Bhagwat reflect on these issues and provide thoughtful answers.
A Call for Reflection
Kejriwal’s letter not only challenges the BJP’s methods but also questions the guiding influence of the RSS on the party’s current political strategy. He emphasized that these concerns are being raised by people across the country and urged Bhagwat to consider them seriously.
The letter, which signals a sharp escalation in AAP’s criticism of the BJP, comes at a time when opposition parties have accused the ruling government of using central agencies to suppress dissent and consolidate power.
Kejriwal concluded by stating that he hopes Bhagwat will “ponder over these questions” and provide clarity on these important issues that have been troubling the nation.
